Dear neighbors,
We would like to start by saying thank you to the South Boulder community for the warm and enthusiastic welcome to the neighborhood. South Boulder is our true home, I grew up in South Boulder and am now raising my family here. On behalf of my family: my husband, Stefan, my daughter, Gioia, my mother, Heidi and my siblings ( who also still live in Colorado) I would like to formally introduce our locally owned family run business Flatirons Natural Pet Market & Wash.
We have been open for almost 90 days now and are feeling very positive about our space, our products, our dog wash, the future possibilities for our business, but especially our customers. As a small independent retailer I have one very distinct advantage over big box stores and online shopping and that is interpersonal relationships. I pride myself on working to learn every body’s name and the names of their pets, and it is my goal to cultivate real relationships with real humans and to earn the trust of those who come into my store for high quality products, high quality conversation, and a high quality experience.
The success of our business is dependent on our relationships, as the value of our business is measured qualitatively rather than quantitatively. We believe that there are many values in doing business that tend to be left out in our modern monetary driven society. There is no doubt that we rely on the store to support our daily lives, swim lessons, Montessori school, fresh food, and other costs of living, but we hope to bring other values into our business. We see value in having healthy pets, healthy pets bring happiness to people, and happy people create wholesome communities where every person and pet can thrive.
All of us, as members of the South Boulder community, are so fortunate to live where there is so much natural beauty right at our doorstep, and the natural beauty inspires us to live healthy, happy, and adventurous lives. The Flatirons are located south of the 40th parallel, Baseline road, and our amazing open space expands into our vast trail systems through South Boulder. The beauty of our community is not just the natural beauty it’s also the beautiful personality of our community, these were the factors that inspired our business. The lifestyle and the commitment we all have to our community drives us every day to show up and provide the very best customer service, the best products and the best experience, so we can live a healthy, happy life and keep our furry companions by our sides through all of our adventures.
